Fieldwork is in full swing across the Ruhr

Across Dortmund, Gelsenkirchen, and Bochum, STARTUP is deep into exploring local cultural places, from a reactivated neighbourhood pub in Wattenscheid, to a repurposed retail space hosting subculture in Bochum, to a long-established community institution in Dortmund.

Across these cases, the work has been marked by a notably open and pleasant atmosphere, and we’d like to thank those involved in our conversations on site for showing such a strong willingness to share their experiences and perspectives in detail!
