Summary
The STARTUP project (the full title Sustainable Transitions. Action Research and Training in Urban Perspective) is a four-year project funded by the European Union through the Horizon Europe 2021- 2027, work programme 2023-2024. It held its kick-off meeting at Sapienza University in Rome on January 30 and 31, 2025. The meeting, organised by Rossana Galdini, the Project Coordinator, and the Sapienza team, officially launched the STARTUP Project.
All partners from 8 European countries meet in person as members of the Consortium, which involves 16 partners from 8 European countries: Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, France, Spain, Poland, Germany, and Belgium. The Consortium includes 6 European Academic institutions, 2 research centres, and 7 cultural associations.
The primary aim of the kick-off meeting was to introduce the project objectives, activities, expected outcomes, management and reporting processes, and the interactions between different Work Packages. It also provided a valuable opportunity for project partners to become acquainted with one another. The project kick-off meeting lasted 2 full days, including some social events. The programme was planned in sessions and included PowerPoint presentations and also interactive break-out sessions to discuss different aspects of the project, including information on content, more general management aspects, reporting requirements and visual material to be used for project dissemination and communication, and specific sessions for each work package to plan out the details of the work to be provided at each partner. Included in the annex to this deliverable are the partners’ presentations from the meeting, the meeting agenda, the attendance list, and photos from the event.
